#1. CREATE A WEBSITE

“But Ria, I don’t know anything about websites or how to build them”

Don’t worry! I have great news. In this day and age, there is a multitude of platforms that will help you build a website without the need of knowing a programming language, like HTML, CSS or PHP.

Thanks to the tools offered by these platforms I created my first blog and my knowledge was very limited.

I assure you that many people in the Wealthy Affiliate Community have achieved immense success. Many of the student members started as a newbie with the free training and they have seen a lot of success. You can also have the same access to those tutorials too, what is stopping you?

Why should I follow training if there is so much information out there online?

You are right!, there is a ton of information out there which could be compiled from blogs, YouTube videos, etc. But you know what?

The main key is not only to have access to the information, but also to have proper direction, guidance, and a community to turn to for support when needed. Completing the Wealthy Affiliate training is what worked for me and it is the reason why I recommend it so much.

#2. MONETIZE YOUR WEBSITE 

There are several ways to monetize a website but, I will explain the three powerful ways I use on my sites. Affiliate Marketing, Google Adsense and Selling advertising space.

Affiliate Marketing

This is one of the most popular and quickest ways to generate income within your site. You can promote or market any items and earn a commission when they sell. There are many affiliate network programs that encompass multiple stores. Once you have your website, you can sign up and start promoting their products through affiliate links. You can earn a commission of up to 50% of a product.

Pay Per Click

The second way to monetize your website is through Pay Per Click Advertising. There are a few companies that offer this way of earning income but, I will explain Google Adsense because is the easier to get approval for.

To me, this is the simplest way to monetize your website. Once you start seeing traffic, you will be able to apply for Google Adsense. When you get the approval, you will receive a script code to add to your website. This will start generating ads in your site and every time someone clicks the adds, you receive a commission.

How much this usually pays? You can get from ¢50 to $5 per click. This can be very good once your website has picked up in traffic.

Selling Advertising Space

The third way is by selling Advertising Space, this, in itself, can be done in two ways. You can rent a section of your web-page for advertising, usually the sidebars. You can come up with a price and sell your own blog space to different companies looking to sponsor. The other way is by reaching out to a sponsor, by way of a written request, to see if they would be interested in sponsoring your website. If they are, they will offer a rate per the number of views that a specific page has. Typically, it’s one dollar per 1000 impressions (or CPM).

Dropshipping

I am not a drop shipper but I know few colleagues who are absolutely doing well with drop shipping. It’s the process of finding a supplier through an online platform such as AliEexpress and selling products to your customer.

#3. YOU NEED PASSION & MOTIVATION YOU NEED A PROPER MINDSET

This is essential to achieve success in the online business

If your goal is to generate income from your website you must be ready to work hard. There is no easy path. But if you have heard otherwise, I am sorry to break it to you, it is all wishful thinking. There is no ‘easy’ money online. There is knowledge to be acquired, training to follow and hard work in order to generate good income.

Like Thomas Edison said “Genius is one percent inspiration, ninety-nine percent perspiration” clearly meaning that hard work is not only necessary but what really creates results.

Fortunately, many tools, training, and support is available to you and will help you through this learning phase. If you allow me, I commit to help you with all of it. You only need to commit to follow the training until you achieve your goal.

#4. A Real Business Involves Hard Work but also Patience

If you’ve owned a business, you already know what I am talking about and you agree with me. If you are new to any of this, you are starting to know as well.

There is a huge market out there with many opportunities but many people give up after a few months of trying. You know why? because they lose patience and don’t allow themselves the right time to see results. I estimate that for many, it may take a whole year before you see results. This type of endeavor starts with applying certain SEO techniques and by creating content and, due to this, it requires time for the search engines to correctly place your content in their search results.

Something that helped me personally when I started, and to this day too, was having a mentor and a community that I could count on. Whenever I had doubts or I faced obstacles they had my back. This was essential for my business and this is why I am here today with a purpose, helping everyone who would like to build a successful business through a website.

Personally, I think that working online is very straightforward. But if you would like to enjoy it to its fullest, if you would like to have maximum creative output, is good if you start creating a website about something you really like and feel passionate about. Creativity is the offspring of Passion, or so the saying goes. When choosing a niche for your business, it can help to choose one that reflects your passion and enthusiasm.

#5. Have a clear motivation and Stay Focus on what is that is driving your desire to do this type of business.

Do you want to work from home? Do you like writing? Do you like photography? Traveling? Cooking? Playing video games? If you have a passion for something or If you know you can help people in any niche, I assure you can succeed online.

There are many affiliate programs that will allow you to earn money while helping others.

I started in the online business for two main reasons: first, I wanted to work from home which would allow me to spend more time with my family. Second, because I wanted financial freedom. What helped me during my early days? Having the “why” front and center of everything I was doing.

I am telling you this because it is what is going to hold you up and help you not lose sight of your goal. A clear motivation will push you to continue creating more content and get through the difficult spots when you are tired or when you are not seeing results.
